Dance and Storytelling Workshop with a Walk in the Forest and a Deep Listening of Collected Sounds
Have you ever wondered how to be tender and sensitive like a deer? Have you ever wondered about the stress of a squirrel that jumps convulsively when we walk in the forest? Could the jump of a deer when it hears us stepping in the forest be my spasm in an anxiety attack? Are we gentle and timid like a deer or would we rather recognize in ourselves the rebellious and fighting energy of a wild boar that does not respect private property, and how might we use our bodies to represent the threat of invasion and savagery? Did you catch a glimpse of the deer?
I invite participants from all walks of life—non-dancers and dancers, performers and non-performers—to imagine and participate in a “choreography” of life in the magical forest surrounding Akademie Schloss Solitude. I invite you to a walk in which we will recall close encounters or longings for our favorite wild animals. We will share our stories on the way to the pine forest covered with moss carpet. There, we will expose our bodies to the texture of the moss, to the space delineated by towering pine trees, and search through gentle movements for our imminence with unlikely species while trying to dance their hidden presence.

"From this point of view there are traits that we should defend in the wild boar.
It is the nomadic figure of refusal – of both private property and borders.
I think that's really interesting: this is why I think there are strong alliances to be made with the boar on a deeply comunist question – the abolition of private property.
There are forms in nature especially animal beings, that radically refuse to be controlled by private property; because the way they live is not compatible with it.
The boar uses enviroment in a way that confronts these ideas;
And in fact that's the thing with the boar, it challenges private ownership of land,
In that even when you put up fences or barriers, they will come and break them down.
There is also this thing of invisibility I think, a nocturn group, almost invisible, a kind of enemy or gang
that you do not see, led by females..." (notes for les sanglières by Elsa Brés)
